Import NCCI Modification Factors

Note: Users need the authority, "Import Experience Modification," (Diamond Administration group) to use this function.

After downloading the NCCI Experience Rating Modification factors from a pre-determined Web site to your network / system directory, the first thing you must do is import the extracted files into Diamond using this function.

This is the first step in the Experience Modification function. Please see Apply NCCI Modification Factors for the second step.

After accessing Diamond Processes from the Diamond Agent:

  1. Select Import NCCI Modification Factors. This returns the Import Wizard. The Wizard is designed to walk you through the import process.

  2. You can either click Next or Data File Directory on the Tree View to the left to return the screen where you will identify the import path and the archive directory.

  3. Import Path: Enter the full path name of the location where you will import your files to (e.g., F:\WorkersComp\MyImportFiles). If the path does not exist, answer Yes to the question: "The directory <Name of Directory> does not exist. Do you want to create it now?"

  4. Archive Directory: Enter the full path name of the directory that contains all the files that have already been imported (e.g., F:\WorkersComp\OldImportFiles). Again, if the path does not exist, answer Yes to the question: "The directory <Name of Directory> does not exist. Do you want to create it now?"

  5. Click Next to scan the Import directory for un-imported files. Once the scan had finished, the file or files are displayed in the List View. You can select or de-select files to be imported.

  6. Once the files have been selected, click Begin Import to start the import process.

  7. Answer Yes to the question: "Begin the NCCI import for the selected files?"

The system begins scanning for files not previously imported and processes those modifications from the file into a Diamond database queue. These are later processed using the Apply NCCI Modification Factors function.

Upon successful completion of the import process, the import file is copied to the folder specified in the Archive Path, then removed from the folder named in the Import Path. The system displays a confirmation: "Import Process completed successfully."

If the import errors during the process, those modification factors that have already been processed appear the queue marked as "Import Succeeded." Those that fail are marked as "Import Failed."

After the import is complete, users can open a policy to access the information by clicking the Experience Rating button on the Policy menu bar to review the Experience Mod (s) and the corresponding detail.
