Note: You must have the authority, "Security Group Setup," (Company Configuration group) to access and perform this function.
Before assigning any users as a group, you must first add a template containing the authorities the group is allowed to have.
In the Employee Web, choose Utilities / Administration / Authority Templates.
To add a new authority template from the Authority Grid View:
Click Add.
On the New Authority Template screen, enter the Name of the template (e.g., Claims Management, Underwriting, etc.)
Click Save.
This returns the Authority <Name of Template> screen. This is the same screen where individual authorities are given to a single user.
At the top of the screen, authorities are listed.
Highlight a group of authorities, for example "Claim Detail." (Note: In this example, let's say the authority template being added is the Claims Management Template.)
On the bottom of the screen, individual authorities are listed. You can select them one by one by placing a check mark in the Select field OR, if all of the authorities should be given, place a check mark in the field opposite the Description column. If a screen returns for a dollar amount, enter the dollar amount and click Save to retain your selections.
Continue down the list of authorities on the top of the screen, and repeat the step listed above.
When finished, click Close.
This adds the template to the Authority Template Grid View.
To edit an Authority Template:
This allows you to add / remove templates and their associated authorities.
When finished, click Close.
To delete an Authority Template:
Select the red X opposite the group in the Grid View.
Answer Yes to the validation: “Are you sure you want to delete this authority template <Name of Template?>”
The template is removed from the Grid View.
Once all Authority Templates have been entered, you are now ready to add corresponding Security Groups.
