Maintain RRE Numbers

Note: Users must have the "Add, Edit, Delete RRE Numbers," (Diamond Administration group) to access and perform these functions.

Medicare requires a carrier's unique RRE (Responsible Reporting Entity) number to be sent to CMS with ISO Claim Search and with the Medicare Query files. This allows your company to use multiple RRE numbers for Medicare CMS Reporting when your company uses different numbers for different accounts / companies they handle.

Add RRE Number

To add an RRE number:

• RRE Number: This is the nine (9) digit number assigned by Medicare.
• Company: Select the company to which this number applies from the combo box. If this number should apply to ALL companies, please select "All."
• State: Select the state to which this number applies from the combo box. If this number should apply to ALL states, please select "All."   
• LOB: Select the line of business to which this number applies from the combo box. If this number should apply to ALL lines of business, please select "All."
• Effective Date: This is the date on which the RRE number becomes effective for this company / state / line of business combination.
• Expiration Date: This is the date on which the RRE number expires for this company / state / line of business combination.

Please Note: Diamond will not validate overlapping Effective / Expiration Dates or coverage of all possible combinations.

• Save RRE Number: Click to retain your entries / selections. The Maintain RRE Number screen returns with the number and associated information displayed in the Grid View.

Edit RRE Number

• Click the pencil icon next to the RRE number.

• Make any changes necessary.

• Click Save RRE Number.

Delete RRE Number

• Click the red X opposite the RRE number.
• Answer Yes to the confirmation: "Are you sure you want to delete this RRE number?" The RRE number is removed from the Grid View.

Special Note

Existing Diamond customers have one (1) RRE number assigned to all claims. A conversion will be required to move the RRE number from the system setting (Claims / Medicare / RRE ID) to the new table, because the system setting is being removed. The -1 and default date settings (Effective Date 01/01/1800 and Expiration Date 12/31/2100) can be used to create a single record that will apply to all states, lines of business and dates.
