"Record Only" policies (also known as "Shell" policies) are generally those that are reported for reference or "record only" when an insured's claim will be handled by a 3rd party's insurance carrier.
If you are entering a "Record Only" policy, select "Record Only Policy Submission" to start. When submitting a policy with a type of "Record Only," all of the information selected / entered is the same as if you were entering / issuing a regular, premium bearing policy. The difference is that once the "Record Only" policy is issued, its status is "H" (Historical). There is no Billing associated with these types of policy transactions.
If claim information is to be submitted, enter the policy number and select Shell Policy on the New Claim screen to begin entry.
