Note: Users must have the authority, "Access Diamond Transport," (System group) to use this function.
Diamond Transport is a utility tool that may be used to import and export XML files for troubleshooting purposes by business analysts, developers or customers.
Requirements:
Diamond (business and client tiers) must be loaded on the import and export machines.
You must have SQL 2000 or SQL 2005 for Diamond Transport to work.
To access Transport:
Open Diamond from your desktop.
Right click the Diamond Agent caution sign in the bottom right corner.
When a pop up menu displays, click Transport.
To export information:
Connect to the Diamond SQL Server database by:
Process information:
Export: Select the Export radio button.
Add:
Policy Number / Claim Number / Policy Id or From Queue: Specify how you are exporting the information by clicking in the radio button. (Note: The selection method is saved and the value will be used as the default for the user's next session.)
Value: Multiple values can be entered by separating the entries using a comma (e.g., APV 10013, APV 10014, APV 10015). If you are exporting using "From Queue," multiple values cannot be entered.
Include Rewrite Policies: This option includes all policies having rewrite transactions to be included for the policy or policies provided.
Click Select.
Export Directory:
Click the Export Directory link to choose the directory where the export files will be created. (Note: All selected options are saved and used as the default values for the user's next session.)
Start the Export Process:
Click Start.
A confirmation screen is presented: "Start the Export operation?"
Click Yes.
Once the export begins, the user can see the progress of the export by looking in the Log section of the main screen. Once it has completed successfully, the exported information can be found in the defined export directory. For each piece of information exported (e.g., policy), a Zip file will be created in the directory. The Zip file contains all of the files exported for that piece of information. Click OK.
To import information:
Connect to the Diamond SQL Server database.
Click the Add link in the Files Section of the main screen.
This returns a browser where the user can select the folder that contains the policy files to import; either XML or ZIP files can be selected. (Note: The application automatically extracts the XML files from the Zip file without the user taking any action.)
Once the user has located the information, highlight the file and click Open.
Other options:
Convert: Select this option if an XML from a previous version needs to be imported. This allows a user to convert previous files to a new format. Previous files are retained, and the converted files have the same name / in the same directory but will have "_converted" added to their file name.
Updated Imported Records: This option allows a user to automatically update imported records to correct problems such as invalid agency or user id values.
Invalid Versions: When selected, the process will try to update invalid versions by selecting the first valid version record that matches the company / state / Line of business / effective date.
Start the Import Process:
Click Start.
A confirmation screen is presented: "Start the Import operation?"
Click Yes.
Once the export begins, the user can see the progress of the export by looking in the Log section of the main screen. When completed, a confirmation screen displays: "The Import operation is complete." Click OK.
