Note: You must have the authority, "VIN Data," (Diamond Administration group) to access and run this function. Additionally, the Update ISO VIN Data is an update program. It is recommended that no users access Diamond while the update is running. Currently, Diamond supports both ISO and Redbook integration.
In Diamond System Editor, (VIN / ISO Import: Exception Log Path), enter the name of the directory where a log file will be written out to that will contain any problems encountered during the import process.
The Update ISO VIN Data (Update Data) function is designed to update the following files when adding a vehicle to a policy: Make, Model, VIN Number, Anti-Theft, Passive Restraints and Anti-lock Brakes. Prior to using this program, Diamond customers should contact ISO and secure the appropriate ISO Vinmaster Diskettes or CDs for the year or range of years that the vehicle updates will be processed for.
Vehicle Info Lookup Type: Select Model ISO from the combo box.
Place the diskette or CD in the appropriate drive.
From the Update ISO VIN Data screen, click Browse.
When the Select New Vin File screen displays:
Look In: Choose the location of the file by scrolling up or down. (Note: If the update is being done using a diskette or CD, use the corresponding drive letter, such as: A for a diskette, or D for a CD.)
<File Name>: Highlight the appropriate name of the file on the diskette or CD.
Open: Select the Open button. The file location and name of the file is placed in the File Name field when the Update ISO Vin Data screen is returned.
Repeat the steps outlined above for any remaining files on the diskette or CD.
Choose the Begin button at the top of the screen and answer Yes to the confirmation question: "Begin VIN Data update?" As files are imported, their progress is displayed on a VIN Import screen. Various messages, such as: "Update Begin, " "<####> of Files Processed," etc., are displayed throughout the update. Depending on the number of files being updated, the length of time the update runs will vary.
When the update completes, the total processing time is displayed on a validation screen. Select Close to exit the screen.
Remove: Used to remove a highlighted file from the List View. Answer Yes to the question: "Remove file from the list?"
Clear: Used to clear all files from the List View. Answer Yes to the question: "Are you sure you want to clear all files from the list?"
Up / Down: Once files have been placed in the List View, this changes the position of a file.
Validate Files Only? Used to read the file for validation purposes.
Automatically Overwrite Existing Exception Log File? Defaults with a check mark. Any records that cannot be imported are written to an exception log file that is identified in the VIN / ISO Import path in Diamond System Editor. The exception log will have the same name as the file but with a different extension (.log). If no errors are found, then nothing will be written to the log file.
