Cancellation Extension

Note: You will need to set up the following prior to use:

1. Cancellation Extension: Users must have this authority in order to access and use this function. It is in the Diamond Administration group.

2. "Add Note for Cancellation Extension:" When set to "True," a Note is added to each policy where a cancellation extension has occurred.

For existing policies that have a Legal Cancellation Notice, this process is used to extend the time between the date the Legal Cancellation Notice is sent and the Final Cancellation. This is done in real time processing.

• Legal Cancel Date for Extension: Enter the date of the Legal Notice that needs to have the Cancellation Date extended. Only existing policies with a Legal Cancellation Date equal to the date entered here will be affected; select from the calendar or enter a date MM/DD/YYYY.
• Extend to Date for Extension: This is used to enter the date when the cancellation extension should end. The system will use this date to determine the number of days to extend the Final Cancellation for those existing policies that have a Legal Cancellation equal to the Legal Cancellation Date entered; select from the calendar or enter a date MM/DD/YYYY.
• Extend Cancels: Once the dates have been entered / selected, click Extend Cancels.

When the process finishes, the system returns a validation indicating the number of policies that have been updated.
