Note: The system setting, "Allow Pend," (Claim / Transaction folder) must be set to "True" - Enable in order to use this function.
When you "Pend" a claim transaction, this is very similar to "Pending" a Loss Notice. In short, you are suspending the transaction as you may need additional information before issuing it.
To pend a claim transaction:
Enter the information you currently have on the Claim Transaction screen.
Click Pend on the Claim Transaction toolbar.
Answer OK to the question: "Pend this transaction?"
The transaction is marked as "Pend," and it is listed on the Claim Tree View with a blue "P" next to it and is highlighted in pink.
To cancel a transaction that is pending:
Select the "Pended" transaction from the Claims Tree View.
Click the Cancel Pend button.
Answer OK to the question: "Delete this pending transaction?"
The status "P" is removed, and the "Pending" transaction is deleted.
The deleted transaction does not show in the Claims Tree View or in the Transaction List. It is still held in the database and has a status, "Discarded."
Once you have received any additional information, you are ready to issue the "Pended" Claim Transaction:
Double click the "Pended" Claim Transaction on the Claim Tree View.
Enter any remaining information you have received.
Click Issue on the Claim Transaction toolbar.
Answer OK to the question: "Issue this transaction?"
The status of the Claim Transaction is changed from "P" to "A" (Active) on the Claim Tree View.
