Note: Prior to using this function, the system setting, "Insured as Claimant," in the Claims / Submission folder in Diamond System Editor must be set to "True" (Enable).
Diamond currently provides the option to default the "Named Insured" as the first claimant assignment in Claim Detail. This is because the majority of claims have the "Named Insured" as the first claimant. In a lesser amount of claims where only the claimant is a 3rd party, Diamond also offers the ability to clear all insured information as Claimant 001 to allow entry of 3rd party claimant information as Claimant 001.
To reassign a 3rd party Claimant as Claimant 001:
Access the policy the claim is being recorded for.
When the Claim Tree View displays, click the Claimants / "I" (Blue "I") to open the claimant's information.
Click Edit.
From the Main tab, select the Claimant link.
On the Claimant Name / Address screen, select Clear Contents to remove the insured's name / address information from the Basic Info tab.
Enter the 3rd party's information and click Save. This information is placed on the Basic Info tab.
Select Save. The Claim Tree View is refreshed with the 3rd party listed as the Claimant.
