Claim tasks and diaries play an important role in the Diamond Claims System. Claim tasks are system generated and essentially are "To Do Items" for claim users. Claim diaries are manually entered notes or reminders created by claim users for either themselves or other users.
Claim tasks are automatically generated by the system based on various claim activity. For example, if underwriting information is entered on the Notify Underwriting List screen, a task related to the claim is created for the underwriter.
Enter or select the following:
Display Items for User: The value displayed defaults to the name of the signed-on user. If another user is desired, select the appropriate name from the combo box.
Originated by: "Anyone" is the default value. If a specific user created the claim task(s), select the appropriate name from the combo box.
Belonging to Queue: Choose the specific user queue to which the claim task was assigned.
Display for Date Range: Ensure that the date range fields incorporate the claim task date; edit the dates as necessary.
Once these items have been entered or selected, the Tasks screen displays the tasks that meet the specified criteria.
Claim diaries are created by a user and serve as reminders or advisory notes to themselves or other claim users.
With the Claim open, select Add Diary Item from the Quick Links.
The top portion of the screen displays the corresponding client, policy and claim information.
Enter or select:
Assign To: Select the appropriate user or user queue to which the Diary is directed; defaults to the name of the signed-on user.
User Category Filter: Select from the combo box or leave blank.
Due Date: Defaults to the current system date but can be changed. This is the date on which the Diary item is due to be completed.
Review Every / Days: To set the Diary item to recur at a scheduled time (also known as an interval Diary), check the Review Every check box and enter the number of days on which the item should recur.
Urgent: If necessary, select the Urgent check box. The item displays in red on the Open Tasks screen.
Mandatory: When selected, this is similar to "Urgent." The item also displays in red on the Open Tasks and it is due by a certain date as indicated on the Diary.
Remarks: Enter the text of the Diary item.
When completed with all entries, select Save to submit the Diary item.
