This function allows users to select an auction type and send vehicle information to a third party vendor that auctions used and salvaged vehicles. Basically, users enter a claim in Diamond with a vehicle that needs to be sent to auction for salvage. Information entered here is collected and allows the user to send the vehicle to the vendor for an auction. As the vehicle progresses through the stages of the auction, auction and sales information updates are received back from the third party vendor and displayed in Diamond.
In Diamond System Editor, the following system settings should be set up in the Claims / Salvage folder.

When editing a vehicle on the claim, two (2) tabs are displayed: Salvage and Salvage Auction.
This allows users to enter preliminary vehicle information, such as: Vehicle Starts, Keys Available, Odometer Reading / Type, Salvage Type, Salvage Amount, Repair Cost, Actual Cash Value and Vehicle Condition.
There are four (4) tabs associated with the Salvage Tab. These and their functions include:
Main: Used to select the Auction Type, Delivery / Pickup Type, Salvage Vehicle Make / Model and Minimum Bid Amount. Other fields are populated with information transmitted back from the third party salvage vendor.
Preview Information: If prospective buyers want to see the vehicle before the auction, information about where the vehicle can be seen is entered here.
Pickup and Delivery Information: Once the vehicle has been sold at auction, pickup and delivery information is entered on this tab.
Buyer Information: Populated by the third party salvage vendor; holds information as to the buyer of the vehicle.
If your company is using the Salvage Auction function, please add the following function to run each night to your End of Day Processing configuration: "Process Salvage Attachments." This process scans the folder specified in the "Attachments Path" system setting for all PDF files and attaches them to the claim specified in the file name of the PDF.
