Real Time Credit Card Processing

Note: If your company allows payment using "Real Time" credit card, pre-installation and planning is required. For connectivity, Diamond currently uses the following vendors: Authorize.net and Verisign. Please discuss with your Insuresoft business analyst prior to using this function.

Additionally, if you want to have a Credit Card Number validated to ensure the correct type of Credit Card has been selected when saving Credit Card information or making a payment, you can set the system setting, "Validate Major Industry Identifier on Credit Card Policies," (Billing folder) to "True."

"Real Time" Credit Card processing allows your customers to pay the amounts owed on their policies automatically using their personal credit cards. Credit card payments can be posted either by single receipt entry or posted in a batch with other customer payments.

In this Help File, we are processing a "Real Time" Credit Card Payment using the Cash Receipts: Single Entry method.

  1. Access the client's policy and select Billing from the Quick Links Tree View.

  2. From the Statement Display screen, select the Make a Payment button. This opens the Receipt Information screen.

  3. Begin the steps to apply payment.

Note: Default fields that cannot be changed are Policy Number, Open and Insured.

  1. Once the Submit Payment button is selected, Diamond makes an internal call out to the service selected (i.e., Authorize.net or Verisign).

  2. The service validates and processes the payment. If the payment is accepted, a validation is returned: "Payment for $<Payment Amount> successful." Additionally, an authorization code is included in the validation statement. If the transaction fails, a validation is also returned that reads something similar to: "Your transaction failed due to <Reason.>"

Once the credit card payment has been successfully sent and validated, a line is written to the Statement Display screen with "Credit Card" listed as the type of payment, and the amount applied to the open invoice amount.
