EFT Validation Utility

The EFT Validation Utility is used to allow for a more timely update of the EFT Validation table in the Diamond database. This table holds the name, address and routing information for financial institutions that are capable of electronic funds transfer and is updated frequently by the Federal Reserve. The utility can be easily set up to run manually or automatically in the Company Configuration Tool: Scheduler Runner / Job Setup & Job Execution.

Installation

The installation is included in the Diamond .ISO Install folder and only needs to be installed one (1) time. The Microsoft .NET framework v2.0 is required for this utility.

 

Run Manually

The installation creates a Start Menu item in the Insuresoft, LLC folder. When the DiamUpdateEFTValidation utility is launched, a command window is opened where the utility performs its task. The utility creates a Log File in the user's Window Temporary directory. When completed, the command window closes.

Run Automatically

Company Configuration Tool: Job Setup

To schedule the utility as a job that will automatically run, access Company Configuration Tool: Job Setup.

 

  1. Click Add Non-Diamond Job from the drop down menu.
  2. Description: Enter EFT Validation Utility.
  3. Executable (Path and File Name): Either enter the path and file name (if known) or use Browse to locate the path / file name.

  4. Parameters: Leave blank.
  5. Click Save to place the job in the Job Setup Grid View.

Company Configuration Tool: Job Execution Schedule

Once the EFT Validation Utility has bee set up, next schedule it to run automatically in the Company Configuration Tool: Job Execution Schedule. Click on Job Execution Schedule / Add. When the New Job Schedule screen displays, make the following entries and selections:

 

Other Notes

  1. When the EFT Validation Utility runs, it overwrites existing information in the EFT Validation table with new information downloaded from the Federal site.
  2. The information is updated by the Federal Reserve daily by 5:00 am (Eastern Time) and is available 24 hours a day / 6.5 days per week. It is not available from Midnight Saturdays through 12 Noon Sundays (Eastern Time).
  3. It is primarily up to your company's discretion as to when to run the Utility. Here, we have shown how to run it on its "own schedule," but it can also be run on certain days, every day or once a week. For more information, please refer to Job Execution Scheduler.
